Summer Solstice

June is here and with it comes a wealth of changes!

This year has flown by and the long weekends have been much welcomed as the temperature increases - even if the weather doesn't necessarily complement this rise!

It’s been a year of positivity so far with a growing customer base, increased product listings and a slew of new employees helping us cope with the increased demand. We’re delighted with how everything is going so far and are looking forward to seeing what the second half of the year has in store for us all.

But, as the halfway mark rolls around we do also have to say goodbye to some of our favourite treats, including our Coronation Chicken Scotch Egg which came back for a second run after a popular first throughout the late Queen's jubilee. This lightly spiced snack was the perfect addition to our more traditional flavours and will certainly be back before long!

We are also saying goodbye to one of our most popular seasonal specials in the Wild Garlic sausage rolls, but fear not, they will return again next year with the return of fresh, local wild garlic. This is one of our favourites, not only for the taste of delicious garlic, but also as it epitomises everything we stand for, fresh, local produce! 

Despite these goodbyes, we're excited to welcome a delicious new light bite in our Cheese and Onion Quiche, perfect for our veggie friends and best served with gooseberry jam and a cherry tomato and radish salad. Available as a small portion for one, or a larger size to share, this quiche is the ideal picnic treat for those long evenings on the beach, or family gatherings at the park.

Putting the food to one side, we also have plenty to look forward to this summer event-wise, including West's Wood Fair in East Dean, Chichester. Kicking off Friday 21st and continuing until Sunday 23rd. This will be our second year at West Sussex’s premium wood fair after last year's debut. An action packed weekend filled with amazing exhibitions, hotly contested competitions, great company and, of course, tasty treats provided by yours truly, this is a great weekend for all the family!
